Prof. Tiengo is an expert in metabolic diseases, and in particular diabetes, and is a member of the American Diabetes
Association and the European Society for the Study of Diabetes. He has served as a reviewer for several leading
i n ternational journals focusing on diabetes and metabolic disease. |

Having qualified as a doctor at the University of Padova, Prof. Tiengo completed his fellowship in Diabetology at the
University of Paris, before returning to Italy to teach. He served as President of the Italian Society of Diabetology,
and progressed to be Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Padova. |
